The following is a statement from Insurance Alliance of Michigan Executive Director Erin McDonough in response to Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s State of the State address.
“While 2020 was undoubtedly filled with challenges and hardships, Michigan’s new auto no-fault law was one of the bright spots. Drivers across the state — including a person featured in a video that was part of Gov. Whitmer’s State of the State address — saved hundreds and even thousands of dollars on their auto insurance premiums,” said Erin McDonough, executive director of the Insurance Alliance of Michigan. “The fee schedule, which takes effect this summer, is already incorporated into today’s rates and will continue to keep rates low. We urge lawmakers in both parties to let these reforms continue working and push back on special interests who want to turn the clock back on these historic reforms.”
